Notes Sanborn's 20 years as a Macomb County probation officer before being elected to the House of Representatives in 1998 and to the Senate by special election in 2001.

Recognizes his service as chair of the Committee on Economic Development, Small Business and Regulatory Reform, and his sponsorship of legislation on economic development, financial institutions, insurance, and higher education.

Expresses the Senate's gratitude for Sanborn's dedicated service and integrity throughout his tenure in the legislative body.
