Resolution honoring Senator Jim Barcia upon the conclusion of his distinguished service to the Michigan Senate and the 31st Senate District.

Recognizes Barcia's decades of public service beginning as a staff assistant to U.S. Senator Philip Hart, followed by service in the Michigan House and Senate (1979-1992) and the U.S. House of Representatives (1992 onwards).

Acknowledges his return to the Michigan Senate in 2002, where he served as Associate President pro tempore and championed hunting, fishing, and agricultural legislation.

Notes his leadership on the Joint Committee on Administrative Rules, the State Police and Military Affairs Subcommittee, and his chairmanship of the Hunting, Fishing and Outdoor Recreation Committee.
