• Specifies that parents or guardians may carry concealed pistols in vehicles on school property while dropping off or picking up students, and excludes parking areas from weapon-free zone restrictions.

• Establishes penalties for violations: first offense is a civil infraction with up to $500 fine and 6-month license suspension; second offense is a misdemeanor with up to $1,000 fine and license revocation; third or subsequent offense is a felony with up to 4 years imprisonment or $5,000 fine and license revocation.

• Requires Michigan Liquor Control Commission to develop a sign for bars/taverns prohibiting concealed weapons, though posting is optional; records of compliance are exempt from public disclosure under state freedom of information law.
