Mandates the director hold a public meeting in Lansing within 200 days of the latest international residential code publication and issue a written determination on whether to update the Michigan residential code within 30 days after the meeting.

Allows persons to request amendments to specific sections of the Michigan residential code within 45 days if the director determines not to update the full code, with the director required to respond within 90 days.

Requires Michigan-specific codes be made available to the public for at least 45 days in printed or electronic form without requiring purchase of additional documents before enforcement begins.
