Reduces the twenty-third judicial circuit (Alcona, Arenac, Iosco, and Oscoda counties) from 2 judges to 1 judge upon the next vacancy or when an incumbent judge does not seek reelection.

Converts the eighty-first district (Alcona, Arenac, Iosco, and Oscoda counties) from having 1 dedicated judge to having probate judges serve as district judges within their respective counties upon the next vacancy or when the incumbent does not seek reelection.

Expands the eighty-second district to include both Ogemaw and Roscommon counties effective April 1, 2012, increasing from 1 to 2 judges by transferring the incumbent eighty-third district judge to the eighty-second district.

Abolishes the eighty-third district (Roscommon County) effective April 1, 2012, with its incumbent judge transferring to the eighty-second district for the remainder of their term.

Takes effect immediately upon Governor approval on February 28, 2012.
