Amends Michigan's pistol licensing law (1927 PA 372) to add a new Section 2c creating an alternative licensing pathway for peace officers to purchase, carry, possess, and transport pistols without obtaining a standard pistol license.

Peace officers must show written verification of employment (current department-issued ID acceptable) to sellers before purchasing a pistol and must complete a record in quadruplicate provided by the department of state police.

Purchasers must forward 2 copies of the record to their local police department or county sheriff within 10 days; the record must be entered into the pistol entry database within 10 days and retained for at least 6 years.

Peace officers may carry, use, possess, and transport the pistol for 30 days from purchase while in possession of their copy of the record; after 30 days, no record is required for possession.

Violators face state civil infractions with fines up to $250.00 for failure to comply with record-keeping requirements; making material false statements on sales records is a felony punishable by up to 4 years imprisonment or $2,500 fine.
