Adds Section 3e to Chapter XI of the Michigan Code of Criminal Procedure (1927 PA 175) to establish electronic monitoring requirements for felony convicts released for work or school.

Requires courts to order electronic monitoring devices using global positioning satellite systems or similar technology on individuals convicted of felonies who are released from jail under work/school release programs.

Mandates continuous recording and monitoring of the electronic device to track the individual's movement and location at all times during release and ensure compliance with work release requirements.

Places all installation, maintenance, monitoring, and removal costs of the electronic monitoring device on the convicted individual.

Bill's effectiveness is contingent upon passage of Senate Bill No. ____ or House Bill No. 5638 (tied legislation).
