Clarifies that attorney compensation is determined by express or implied agreement between the attorney and client, subject to exceptions provided by law or Michigan Supreme Court regulation.

Maintains existing prohibition that agreements for attorney compensation or expense reimbursement are void if employment was solicited by the attorney or another person on the attorney's behalf, unless the client first requested the attorney's services.

Establishes a $1,000,000.00 cap on contingent fees for personal injury and wrongful death claims, regardless of the percentage agreed upon or amount recovered.
