Increases penalty for perjury under Michigan election law from a fine not exceeding $1,000 and/or imprisonment up to 5 years to a fine not exceeding $10,000 and/or imprisonment up to 5 years

Changes perjury conviction classification to a felony offense under the amended statute

Repeals original penalty language that allowed fines not exceeding $1,000 or imprisonment in state prison for not more than 5 years

Applies to any person found guilty of perjury under the provisions of the Michigan election law
