Amends 1905 PA 299 (MCL 552.391) to change the title from "An act to provide for changing and determining the names of divorced women" to "An act to provide for changing and determining the names of divorced individuals"

Allows courts to grant name changes upon divorce at the request of either party (plaintiff or defendant), whether restoring birth name, a surname legally borne before marriage, or adopting another surname without fraudulent intent

Replaces gender-specific language throughout the statute, changing references from "woman," "her," and "she" to gender-neutral terms like "party," "the party's," and "the party"

Makes the statute applicable to all divorced individuals rather than exclusively divorced women

Contingent on enactment of HB 5766 or Senate Bill 4697'11 from the 96th Legislature
