School districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies are prohibited from adopting policies that restrict or ban student application of sunscreen at school.

School officials and employees cannot prohibit or restrict students from applying sunscreen on themselves at school, except in unusual circumstances necessary to maintain order and safety.

"At school" includes classrooms, school premises, school buses, school vehicles, and school-sponsored activities or events whether held on or off school premises.

Sunscreen is defined as lotion, spray, gel, or other topical product that absorbs or reflects ultraviolet radiation to help protect against sunburn.
