Allows a political party to select a replacement candidate if an incumbent candidate changes party affiliation within 7 days before the nominating petition or filing fee deadline.

The replacement candidate selection must occur within 14 days after the nominating petition or filing fee deadline.

For state offices or U.S. Senate, the state central committee of the original party selects the replacement candidate.

For county offices or single-county district offices, the county executive committee of the original party selects the replacement candidate.

For multi-county district offices, ward offices, and township offices, the selection authority varies based on how many county executive committee members reside in the relevant electoral area.
