Filing official must declare sufficiency or insufficiency of recall petition within 35 days of filing.

Insufficient petition requires notification only if sponsor files written notice of sponsorship and mailing address with filing official.

Special election must be held not less than 95 days after recall petition is filed and scheduled for either the next May regular election date or next November regular election date, whichever occurs first.

Provision applies to recall petitions filed under both standard recall procedures and section 959 procedures.
