Amends Michigan Penal Code section 556 to prohibit employers from discriminating in wage payment between sexes who are similarly employed.

Removes outdated restrictions on female workers regarding task assignments, employment conditions, and work deemed detrimental to health or motherhood.

Establishes misdemeanor penalties based on employer size: up to $500 fine for employers with 1-15 employees, up to $1,000 for 16-50 employees, and up to $2,000 for more than 50 employees.

Allows wage rate differences based on factors other than sex without violating the section.

Does not prevent additional charges or convictions for other violations of law arising from the wage discrimination violation.
