Prohibits importing or attempting to import a large carnivore into Michigan unless ownership and possession is authorized under the existing large carnivore regulation act (2000 PA 274)

Requires importers to obtain a prior entry permit from the Michigan Department of Agriculture before bringing a large carnivore into the state

Mandates that all imported large carnivores be identified with a subcutaneous microchip, with the identification number recorded on the prior entry permit

Takes effect only if Senate Bill No. 1236 of the 96th Legislature is enacted into law
