Adopts the Uniform Interstate Depositions and Discovery Act as Michigan law effective April 1, 2013.

Allows parties to submit foreign subpoenas to Michigan circuit court clerks to obtain discovery from persons located in Michigan without requiring the requesting party to appear in Michigan courts.

Circuit court clerks must promptly issue subpoenas incorporating the terms of foreign subpoenas, along with contact information for all counsel and unrepresented parties in the proceeding.

Applies Michigan court rules and statutes to compliance with issued subpoenas, and allows motions for protective orders or to enforce, quash, or modify subpoenas to be filed in the circuit court where discovery is conducted.

Amends section 1852 of the Revised Judicature Act to clarify that any Michigan court of record may order service of documents in connection with proceedings outside the state without requiring recognition of foreign judgments.
