Amends the Revised Judicature Act of 1961 regarding the 84th judicial district, which consists of Wexford and Missaukee counties, to add a provision that allows the probate judges of each county to serve as district judges within their respective counties beginning when a vacancy occurs or when the incumbent judge no longer seeks reelection.

Modifies the 86th judicial district, which consists of Grand Traverse, Antrim, and Leelanau counties, to reduce the number of judges from 3 to 2 beginning on the earlier date of either a vacancy occurring in the district or when an incumbent district judge no longer seeks reelection.

Removes prior language regarding how the additional 86th district judgeship was to be filled effective March 26, 2000, by the incumbent 87th district judge from Antrim County.
