Amends Michigan's fishing regulations to authorize the Department of Natural Resources to issue orders regulating the use of spears, bows and arrows, and crossbows for taking fish in state waters.

Maintains existing restrictions on fishing methods including prohibitions on grab hooks, snag hooks, gaff hooks, nets, firearms, and explosive substances.

Limits anglers to a maximum of 3 single lines or rods with no more than 6 total hooks, though the department may reduce the number of rods to a minimum of 2.

Permits specific alternative fishing methods during designated seasons and locations, including hand nets for smelt and other species (March 1-May 31), dip nets (April 1-May 31), and hoop nets for burbot (December 15-February 28).

Effective July 2, 2012.
