Departments of Agriculture and Rural Development and Natural Resources shall jointly advise the legislature and governor on forest management and development related to the forest products industry.

Departments must jointly develop a forestry development plan to improve the state's business climate for forestry, ensure stable timber supply, and coordinate public and private forestry activities.

Departments shall identify industry needs and promote expansion of forest products companies, retention of existing companies, and attraction of new companies to the state.

Departments must promote and encourage use of Michigan's value-added forest products within the state, other states, and internationally.

Departments shall submit annual reports to the governor and legislature on activities promoting forest products industry development; bill takes effect only if Senate Bills 1057-1059 and 1062, and House Bills 4302, 4969, and 4970 are enacted.
