• Makes registry reports and records confidential with limited access restricted to investigating agencies, law enforcement, physicians, caregiving organizations, courts, grand juries, and legislative committees with proper authorization.

• Allows individuals listed on the registry to request amendment or expunction of inaccurate records or records lacking evidence of abuse, with hearings conducted before a department-appointed hearing officer under the Administrative Procedures Act.

• Permits employers and volunteer agencies to request clearance information confirming whether an individual is on the registry before hiring or accepting volunteers for positions involving contact with vulnerable adults.
