Removes requirement that electrical contractors be described as "person, firm, or corporation" and changes to "person" to align with updated definitions.

Modifies Section 2 requirements for individuals performing electrical wiring to be licensed under the act and employed by a licensed electrical contractor.

Adds new exemption (3)(p) allowing employees or agents of manufacturing or mining operations to perform electrical wiring installation, alteration, maintenance, repair, or renovation if a licensed electrician is designated as responsible for code compliance and the department is notified in writing.

Adds new exemption (3)(q) for independent power producers to have employees or agents perform electrical equipment and wiring installation, alteration, maintenance, or repair at their facilities.

Defines "licensed electrician" as a licensed electrical contractor, electrical journeyman, or master electrician, and updates definition of "person" to include partnerships, associations, corporations, limited liability companies, and other legal entities.
