Urges the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services to continue operating the Perinatology Research Branch (PRB) facility at Wayne State University in Detroit.

The PRB conducts clinical and basic research in perinatal medicine to improve pregnancy outcomes and trains physicians and scientists in maternal-fetal health care.

Over 20,000 pregnant women, primarily from low-income households, have received care through the PRB since its establishment by the National Institutes of Health in 1999.

The facility generates approximately $35 million in annual economic impact, employs over 120 individuals in high-paying research and clinical positions, and has brought more than $200 million in federal research funds to Michigan over the past decade.

Directs that copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Secretary of the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and Wayne State University.
