Requests Congress reject the President's budget proposal to eliminate the Coast Guard search-and-rescue helicopter unit in Muskegon County and restructure the Traverse City Air Station.

Identifies Lake Michigan as the second-largest Great Lake with 950,000 registered recreational vessels and approximately 182,000 recreational boaters from multiple states operating on it annually.

States the Muskegon County air facility provides critical mid-lake emergency response capability, with the nearest alternative stations located 115 miles south in Chicago and 113 miles north in Traverse City.

Notes the helicopter units serve homeland security functions located 250 miles from the Canadian border at Sault Ste. Marie and that reducing facilities would compromise Coast Guard emergency response capacity in mid-lake areas.

Directs copies of the resolution be transmitted to the President of the U.S. Senate, Speaker of the House, and Michigan's congressional delegation.
