Designates May 2012 as Michigan Student Athlete Cardiac Awareness Month in response to at least 50 student deaths from sudden cardiac arrest since December 1999.

Recognizes the Kimberly Anne Gillary Foundation, established in 2000 after 15-year-old Kimberly's death, which has raised over $1.15 million and donated more than 600 automated external defibrillators (AEDs) to Michigan high schools as of March 1, 2012.

Notes that approximately 75 percent of Michigan high schools now have at least one AED with trained staff, and documents at least two lives saved using foundation-donated AEDs.

Urges the State Board of Education to include AED training in student health education courses, conduct regular AED drills, and educate students and families about cardiac risk identification.
