Recognizes October 8-12, 2012, as Turn Up the H.E.A.T. Week in Michigan to mark the 27th anniversary of the Help Eliminate Auto Thefts program.

H.E.A.T. has recovered more than $54 million in stolen property and assisted in the arrests of more than 3,400 suspects through nearly 9,000 calls to its 1-800-242-H.E.A.T. tip line since its 1985 establishment.

The Michigan State Police Criminal Investigation Section monitors the program's 24/7, toll-free tip line and directs information to appropriate police agencies statewide.

H.E.A.T. is hosting its annual Anniversary Breakfast on October 10 at GM Heritage Center with 250 members of law enforcement, insurance industry, and media representatives to celebrate the program's success.

A copy of the resolution is to be transmitted to Help Eliminate Auto Thefts acknowledging the public-private partnership's work in eliminating auto thefts throughout Michigan.
