Increases maximum prison sentence for intentionally discharging a firearm from a motor vehicle, snowmobile, or off-road vehicle in a manner endangering another person from 4 years to 10 years, and increases maximum fine from $2,000 to $10,000.

Creates enhanced penalties when such discharge causes physical injury (up to 15 years imprisonment and $15,000 fine), serious impairment of body function (up to 20 years and $25,000 fine), or death (life imprisonment or any term of years).

Increases maximum prison sentence for intentionally discharging a firearm at a dwelling or potentially occupied structure from 4 years to 10 years, and increases maximum fine from $2,000 to $10,000.

Creates enhanced penalties when discharge at a dwelling or structure causes serious impairment of body function (up to 20 years and $25,000 fine) or death (life imprisonment or any term of years).

Maintains existing exemptions for peace officers performing duties and individuals acting in self-defense or defense of another; allows sentences to run consecutively with other violations from same transaction.
