Courts must order full restitution for victims of human trafficking offenses (MCL 750.462a to 750.462h) in addition to restitution under existing law.

Restitution for lost income is calculated using whichever method yields the largest amount: gross value of victim's labor to the defendant, minimum wage calculation under 1964 PA 154 or federal minimum wage, or income loss under existing section 16(4)(c).

Courts may order defendants to pay victim expenses including transportation, temporary housing, child care, and attorney fees incurred because of the offense.

Courts may order payment for wages lost, child care, transportation, and parking expenses related to victim assistance with investigation and court attendance.

Courts may order payment for any other loss suffered by the victim as a proximate result of the offense; effective January 14, 2015, contingent on enactment of HB 5234.
