Secretary of State must develop and issue "Thin Blue Line" fund-raising and collector registration plates by September 1, 2015, designed in conjunction with Thin Blue Line of Michigan.

Vehicle owners may apply to use thin blue line fund-raising plates instead of standard registration plates.

Donation money from thin blue line plate sales is transferred to the State Treasurer for deposit into a newly created Thin Blue Line Fund that does not lapse at fiscal year end.

State Treasurer disburses fund money quarterly to Thin Blue Line of Michigan (P.O. Box 415, Howell, Michigan 48844-0415) for assisting and supporting families of injured or deceased public safety officers within Michigan.
