Changes required continuing education from 80 clock hours to 75 clock hours per 3-year license cycle in subjects related to athletic training.

Modifies the definition of athletic training practice to require activities be performed "if" (rather than "as long as") within department rules and under direction/prescription/collaboration with licensed physicians, dentists, podiatrists, or other specified healthcare providers.

Adds requirement that athletic trainers complete training in automated external defibrillator (AED) use for health care professionals, in addition to existing first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation requirements, approved by organizations such as American Red Cross or American Heart Association.

Expands the scope of athletic training services to exclude dentistry and podiatric medicine and surgery from prohibited practices.
