Beginning January 1, 2015, civil service commissions shall provide Tier C public notice under the local government public notice act instead of publishing examination notices in official newspapers for 2 weeks.

Notice requirements for examination applications and eligible lists remain posted at commission offices, with the addition of Tier C public notice for eligible lists beginning January 1, 2015.

Newspaper advertisements are no longer required for promotional examination notices under the new public notice requirements.

Minor technical corrections made to Section 12 regarding promotional examination procedures, including changes to employment duration requirements and hearing procedures.

This amendatory act takes effect only if House Bill No. 5560 of the 97th Legislature is enacted into law.
