House Bill 5768 Summary

• Changes references from "board of supervisors" to "board of commissioners" throughout the county parks statute to reflect current county governance structures.

• Modifies park rules and regulations approval process, requiring county board of commissioners approval by resolution, newspaper publication, and posting in at least 3 conspicuous locations (10" x 12" minimum size).

• Effective January 1, 2015, requires compliance with the local government public notice act (Tier C notice) for park rules and regulations in addition to existing publication and posting requirements.

• Requires counties with websites to post park rules and regulations on their website indefinitely after Tier C public notice is provided.

• Dissolves any existing county park trustee boards in road system counties and transfers all park trustee duties and property to the county board of road commissioners; applies only if House Bill 5560 is enacted into law.
