HB 5927 Summary

• Reduces the airport parking facility excise tax rate from 27% to 17% of parking charges, effective January 1, 2016.

• Eliminates the distribution of airport parking tax revenue to qualified counties for indigent health care beginning January 1, 2016.

• Redirects all remaining airport parking tax revenue after state aeronautics fund and regional airport city allocations to the comprehensive transportation fund instead of county distributions.

• Maintains existing allocations of $6,000,000 per fiscal year to the state aeronautics fund for airport safety and security projects and $1,500,000 per calendar year to cities hosting regional airports.

• Takes effect January 1, 2016.
