Amends 1959 PA 54 regarding disposition of stolen property recovered by county sheriffs by modifying public notice requirements for property sales.

County boards of commissioners must act on sheriff requests to sell recovered property within 6 months of receiving the request.

Changes public notice requirement beginning January 15, 2015 from newspaper publication to "tier B with a link notice" under the local government public notice act, with notice required at least 5 days before sale.

Clarifies that money lacking value beyond face value is not subject to public sale provisions and may be claimed at the sheriff's office until sale date.

Bill is contingent on enactment of either Senate Bill (number not specified) or House Bill 5560 from the 97th Legislature.
