MI HB6004

Amends the county board of commissioners' authority to enter into agreements with commissions operating work farms, factories, or shops to house prisoners sentenced to terms of 6 months or less.

Changes terminology from "county board of supervisors" to "county board of commissioners" and updates language regarding prisoner confinement provisions.

Requires counties entering into such agreements prior to January 1, 2015 to provide public notice by publication in a county newspaper.

Requires counties entering into such agreements on or after January 1, 2015 to provide "tier B public notice" under the local government public notice act.

Bill takes effect only if House Bill No. 5560 of the 97th Legislature is enacted into law.
