MI HB6104

Requires insurers delivering or renewing expense-incurred hospital, medical, or surgical group or individual policies, or health maintenance organizations offering group or individual contracts that do not cover elective abortions, to notify policyholders or subscribers in writing at least annually that elective abortions are not covered.

Specifies that insurers and health maintenance organizations must also notify policyholders or subscribers that abortion coverage by optional rider is not available for purchase.

Applies to policies, certificates, and contracts delivered, executed, issued, amended, adjusted, or renewed in Michigan or outside Michigan if covering Michigan residents, beginning on the date the law is enacted.
