Urges the Governor to accept increased Medicaid funding available under the Affordable Care Act.

Over 600,000 uninsured Michigan adults would become eligible for Medicaid under expansion to populations below 133% of the Federal Poverty Level.

State would receive $1.9 billion to $2.2 billion annually in federal revenue over ten years for a total of over $20.5 billion, with $200 million in state savings in the first year.

Medicaid expansion would reduce uncompensated hospital care costs by an estimated $300 million, providing fiscal relief to Michigan hospitals.

Directs copies of the resolution be transmitted to the Governor and the Director of the Michigan Department of Community Health.
