Declares September 15-October 15, 2014, as Hispanic Heritage Month in Michigan, coinciding with National Hispanic Heritage Month.

Recognizes the historical contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the nation, including achievements in law, religion, agriculture, art, music, education, technology, architecture, and cuisine.

Acknowledges the significance of September 15 as the independence anniversary for Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua (1821), with Mexico, Chile, and Belize celebrating independence on September 16, 18, and 21 respectively.

Encourages all sectors of Michigan to honor and commemorate the historical events and recognize the contributions of Hispanic citizens to Michigan's economy and society.

Directs copies of the resolution be transmitted to state officials and representatives of the Hispanic community as testimony of the Michigan Legislature's esteem for Hispanic ancestors and descendants.
