Honors Representative Rashida H. Tlaib for six years of service in the Michigan House of Representatives as the first female Muslim elected to the state legislature and second in the country.

Recognizes Tlaib's commitment to justice, including establishing a neighborhood service center to assist low-income families and pursuing action against scrap metal thieves and corporate interests threatening her community.

Acknowledges Tlaib's work as minority vice-chair of the Appropriations Committee and on more than 30 bills addressing poverty, human services access, public health and safety, consumer protection, and environmental protection.
