Establishes separate criminal penalties for assaulting, battering, wounding, or endangering health professionals employed by hospitals, health systems, or health care providers while performing duties, with same penalty as general assault: up to 2 years imprisonment or $2,000 fine.

Increases penalties for assaults causing bodily injury requiring medical attention to any protected person or health professional: up to 4 years imprisonment or $5,000 fine.

Increases penalties for assaults causing serious impairment of body function to any protected person or health professional: up to 15 years imprisonment or $10,000 fine.

Increases penalties for assaults causing death of any protected person or health professional: up to 20 years imprisonment or $20,000 fine.

Defines "health professional" as employees of hospitals or health care providers whose duties involve direct patient care and require licensure, certification, or regulation under Michigan's Public Health Code or supervision by a regulated professional.
