Requires high school students to complete a 1/2-credit course in financial literacy as part of Michigan merit curriculum requirements, in addition to existing mathematics credit requirements.

Modifies mathematics credit requirements by allowing completion of a 1/2-credit financial literacy course plus an additional 1/2-credit mathematics course (such as trigonometry, statistics, accounting, or business math) to fulfill part of the 4-credit mathematics requirement.

Maintains existing requirements for Algebra I, Geometry, and Algebra II (or integrated equivalent), with the option to complete Algebra II over extended timeframes or through career and technical education programs with embedded mathematics content.

Allows students to fulfill mathematics requirements through department-approved career and technical education programs in fields such as electronics, machining, construction, welding, engineering, or renewable energy.

Requires each student to successfully complete at least 1 mathematics course during their final year of high school enrollment.
