Board and task force chairs appoint disciplinary subcommittees consisting of 2 public members and 3 professional members, with the board or task force chair excluded from serving on the subcommittee.

Disciplinary subcommittee decisions require a majority vote of appointed and serving members, with decisions imposing sanctions or other final decisions requiring an additional affirmative vote from at least 1 public member.

The department may review and overturn disciplinary subcommittee decisions within 30 days if the department determines the action does not protect public health, safety, and welfare, with department approval of the board chair required.

Department must publish all final disciplinary decisions on its public licensing and registration website beginning January 1, 2015, including the reason for and description of disciplinary action taken.

Effective date is July 1, 2014.
