Replaces references to "family independence agency" with "department" in the Office of Inspector General statute to reflect organizational changes.

Authorizes the director to appoint benefit trafficking unit agents with limited arrest powers to enforce department programs subject to penalties under Michigan Penal Code Section 300a.

Grants appointed agents all powers of peace officers for enforcing state laws related to the Social Welfare Act, with authority to carry firearms if authorized by the director.

Allows agents to arrest without a warrant when they have probable cause for felonies, reasonable cause for financial gain felonies under MCL 750.159g, or receipt of valid arrest warrant information from authoritative sources.

Conditions subsections (2) and (3) on continued federal authorization under the Agricultural Act of 2014 (PL 113-79) or successor federal statute.
