Employers with 50 or more full-time employees must allow employees to request and take up to 3 hours of paid leave on each election day to vote.

Employees must provide notice to their employer at least 7 days in advance of their intent to use voting leave.

Employers may only deny voting leave if granting it would endanger public safety or welfare.

Employers are prohibited from discharging, threatening, or discriminating against employees for requesting or using voting leave.

Employees may bring civil action against employers who violate the act and recover the greater of actual damages or $2,500 per violation.
