MI SB1024

Amends MCL 777.11b to add 11 felony offenses related to identification documents, firearms permits, sex offender registration, and child abduction to the sentencing guidelines in Chapter XVII of the Criminal Code.

Adds identity-related felonies including false statements on state ID applications (Classes C-E), counterfeiting/forging state ID cards (Classes D-E), and false representations to obtain personal information (Classes C-H) with statutory maximums ranging from 4-15 years.

Adds firearm-related felonies including false statements on pistol sales records and concealed pistol permit applications (Class F, 4-year maximum) and unlawful granting of pistol training certificates (Class F, 4-year maximum).

Adds sex offender registration violations including failure to register (Classes D-F with maximums of 4-10 years) and failure to update registration information (Class F, 2-year maximum).

Removes three fireworks safety act violations from the sentencing guidelines that were previously listed.

Bill does not take effect unless Senate Bill No. 1023 of the 97th Legislature is also enacted into law.
