Adds sexual orientation and gender identity or expression as protected classes under the Elliott-Larsen Civil Rights Act, alongside existing protections for religion, race, color, national origin, age, sex, height, weight, familial status, and marital status.

Expands employment protections to prohibit discrimination in hiring, compensation, terms and conditions of employment, labor union membership, apprenticeships, and job training programs based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression.

Extends fair housing protections to cover sexual orientation and gender identity or expression in real estate transactions, financing, multiple listing services, and restricts discriminatory covenants in property deeds.

Prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and gender identity or expression in public accommodations, educational institutions, and private clubs that are deemed places of public accommodation.

Defines "gender identity or expression" as having or being perceived as having a gender-related self-identity or expression whether or not associated with an individual's assigned sex at birth, and "sexual orientation" as orientation for heterosexuality, homosexuality, or bisexuality.
