Acknowledges Defeat the Label, a nonprofit organization working to address bullying through awareness campaigns, community outreach, and social media across elementary, middle, and high schools.

Cites statistics that a child is bullied every seven minutes in the United States and 160,000 students miss school daily due to bullying.

Encourages Michigan schools to participate by having students and educators stand up in their classrooms at 12 noon (EST) on May 2, 2014, to stand against bullying.

Directs copies of the resolution be sent to the Michigan Department of Education and to Jeff Sakwa and Kevin Goldman of West Bloomfield for their efforts raising bullying awareness in schools.
