Acknowledges that Amtrak provided passenger rail travel to over 750,000 Michigan travelers in 2013 and carried 31.6 million passengers nationally that year, the best year in company history.

Highlights Michigan's 22 railroad stations as sources of civic pride, gateways to communities, and tools for economic growth and transportation-oriented development.

Congratulates Amtrak on 43 years of service as America's railroad and recognizes the importance of freight and passenger rail networks to the American economy.

Directs copies of the resolution to be transmitted to the Michigan Association of Railroad Passengers and Amtrak.
