Allows peace officers from counties, cities, villages, townships, public airport authorities, and universities to exercise authority outside their geographical boundaries when enforcing state laws in conjunction with Michigan State Police or other peace officers.

Permits officers to pursue and stop individuals outside their jurisdiction if the officer witnessed a violation of state law, administrative rule, or local ordinance within their jurisdiction and immediately pursues the offender across jurisdictional lines.

Extends pursuit authority to public airport authority officers who witness violations occurring within the airspace above their airport, allowing them to pursue and detain individuals outside airport boundaries.

Allows officers conducting pursuits to enforce any other applicable law, administrative rule, or ordinance before, during, or immediately after detaining an individual, not just the violation that initiated the pursuit.

Takes effect 90 days after enactment (effective date February 20, 2017).
