Entities and agencies contracting with the Department of Human Services to provide refugee services must disclose whether they have federal contracts for refugee services, receive state funding for those contracts, and whether conflicts of interest exist.

Service providers must report any incidents or failures in refugee placement that may be related to human trafficking or security issues to the Michigan Department of State Police.

Service providers must provide annual updates to the Department of State Police and the Office of Refugee Services regarding the status of all unaccompanied minors and refugees brought into the state under federal contracts.

Service providers must notify local units of government at the time of contract acceptance or at least 60 days before placing refugees, and must place refugees in areas with adequate absorption capacity in consultation with local governments.

Service providers must work with Michigan Works! to provide employment opportunities and diversity in placement locations, and must annually report on state contracts or programs used to serve refugees or recent former refugees.
