School districts, intermediate school districts, and public school academies must adopt and implement policies prohibiting bullying at school, including cyberbullying as a form of bullying.

Policies must include procedures for reporting bullying, investigating complaints, notifying parents/guardians, documenting incidents, and maintaining confidentiality of reporters.

School officials must be identified by job title as responsible for policy implementation, and all verified bullying incidents must be reported annually to the school board.

Legislation encourages schools to establish bullying prevention task forces, provide annual training for staff and volunteers, and consider restorative practices when addressing bullying behavior.

School employees, volunteers, pupils, and parents who report bullying in good faith are immune from lawsuits arising from the report itself, except for designated school officials responsible for remedying the bullying.
